About the Browning Arms Company Challenger
Introduced in 1962 and designed by Browning with production by FN Herstal in Belgium, the Challenger was a high-grade .22 LR semi-auto pistol with a 6.75-inch barrel, adjustable target sights and a blued finish. Early guns had engraved or checkered grip variations and were marketed as a premium rimfire. It was followed by the Challenger II and III, which were made in the US.
